I told you earlier about the idea of making my garage off-grid one. So here I am talking a little bit over the small solar system setup, done in a DIY mode, based on these components:
1. Inverter - that's the heart of the system. In my case I used one of the cheap Chinese inverters fro 48V system, specifically EAsun SMH II rated at 7000VA or 6.2kW. Here's the link to it: [ Ссылка ]
a couple of similar units that will do literally the same job, so choose whichever you like more:
a) PowMR: [ Ссылка ]
b) Anern: [ Ссылка ]
c) Daxtromn: [ Ссылка ]
d) Anenji: [ Ссылка ]
e) ECGSOLAX: [ Ссылка ]
2. Solar panels. Longi LR5-54HTH-435M. 5 pcs. Bought them locally form one of the solar inventory suppliers.
3. Same local solar supplier provided me with all the smaller things needed: rails, screw-bolts, panel-rail holders.
4. Solar cable. You should bother and get the one that specifies like this: H1Z2Z2-K, about the gauge - use 4 or 6 mm2 (12 or 10 AWG) depending on the distance and bearable voltage. Use the proper voltage drop calculator for help: [ Ссылка ]
5. MC-4 connectors and crimping tool.
Someone told me you shuold get Staubli as they are the best. I won't argue, but will show you the ones I got for myself, and let's see how long will they last and how will it go:
set of crimper + connectors [ Ссылка ]
only connectors: [ Ссылка ]
Y and T connector types, needed once you have a couple of parallel arrays getting into the one solar input: [ Ссылка ]
6. Solar panel protection box: [ Ссылка ]
7. Some DC circuit breakers [ Ссылка ], you can get from the same seller AC-circuit breakers in case you need them (2P only).
8. batteries
а) in my case I am using GEL, 12V 100AH batteries, 4x in series making it a 48V system. Balancer is a must have: [ Ссылка ]
б) in case you need something better than GEL - go for LiFePO4.
where to get one - here was the video about it: [ Ссылка ]
IMPORTANT!!
I didn't mention it in the video anywhere, since I don't have it installed, but let me write it down here: batteries normally have to have a separate fuse on the "+" cable
9. transfer switch - to have the generator connected to the system: [ Ссылка ]
10. If you want and have a financial possibility - go for a wind turbine additionally, relatively small M5/M6/M8 will be just perfect for this setup. Where to buy - was all explained here: [ Ссылка ]
Also, in the end go for a solar array of a size that fits your needs best, I'll likely end up adding +3 panels to the existing 5.
