It's actually hard to believe that this is a dash cam. It's honestly a better build quality than most compact digital cameras with a totally metal body and lovely brushed finish. If it wasn't for the short battery life (these are not designed to be run on battery, it's just to preserve settings ect when turned off) then you could use it as a compact camera as it's got all the basics of a compact.
I've seen black plastic dash cams which cost more!
You can change the picture resolution settings for both video and photos and various looping settings. This will mostly be dependant on what size SD card you put in there.
There is a G-Shock function but you will need to run a permanent power on live feed to the camera. This will then enable it to start recording if it senses a bang on your car so increases your chance of tracking someone should they hit your car while parked.
