Undereye hollows can be treated with Fillers. Dr. Milind Naik, MD, Oculoplastic surgeon demonstrates the injection procedure and a few results following treatment.
Procedure time: 10-20 minutes, for both sides. Day-care clinic-based (OPD) procedure, no admission required.
How long does it last: Filler companies quote on the box that it lasts for 8-12 months, but our observation has been that in umder-eye area, it can last upto 1.5-2 years.
Cost: Fillers are universally available as 1ml syringes, the cost of a Filler varies slightly from one country to another, based on import taxes. In India, 1ml Filler would cost between 18-24K INR. Add to it, a procedure cost which maybe 20-40% of the cost price amount.
Side-effects:
1) Minimal bruising and swelling (may last for 2-7 days).
2) Pain during the procedure (minimal. as most products have a small amount of anaesthetic mixed into it).
3) Irregular filling: A check-up at 2 weeks is required, just in case a touch up is needed to make it look natural and perfect.
4) Blindness due to vascular occlusion: As rare as a flight crash, but is possible if the injector is not experienced in under-eye fillers. Therefore, you need to research well before signing up for this procedure!
