Through her time as secretary of state and U.S. ambassador to the U.N., Madeleine Albright influenced American foreign policy in many ways. She pushed for intervention in Kosovo, sanctions in Iraq and the expansion of NATO, among many other policy credentials. But, her legacy is also a complicated one. To examine her time in public office, the PBS NewsHour's Nicole Ellis spoke to PBS NewsHour's Foreign Affairs and Defense Correspondent Nick Schifrin about her mixed legacy as a diplomat.
