2 Kings 6:24-7:20 - Elisha and the Famine

We can always trust God's promises. You could use these questions to think more about the story:
1. Why was there a famine in Samaria? What were the people forced to eat? 2. What effect did the famine have on the price of food? (6:25)
3. Why did the woman ask the king for help? What had happened? (6:26-29)
4. How did the king respond? What was the king wearing? (6:30)
5. Who did the king blame for this situation? Why was he angry with Elisha? (6:31)
6. Who was really responsible for the siege and the famine? (6:33)
7. What did Elisha promise would happen? When did he promise this would happen? (7:1)
8. How did the king’s officer respond? What did Elisha promise would happen to him as a result? (7:2)
9. Why did the four lepers go to the Aramean camp? What did they find there? (7:3-5)
10. What had happened in the camp? What did the Arameans leave behind? 11. Who had caused this to happen? (7:6-7)
12. What did the lepers do at first? What did they do later? (7:8-10)
13. What did the king think had happened? What did he do to make sure? What did the men discover? (7:12-15)
14. What did the people do when they heard the news? What happened to the king’s officer? Which of God’s promises through Elisha were fulfilled? (7:16-20)
