The compensation for the victims of Uttar Pradesh train tragedy are given in the old currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000. The money was given to several people in hospital by local politicians. Over 110 passengers are believed to be dead and another 150 injured after 14 coaches of the Patna- Indore express derails at Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh. Rescue operations are underway in the accident site which is 100 kms from Kanpur. It is the S1& S2 sleeper coach that has been severely affected. Army, NDRF and local administration are pressed into rescue and recovery operations.
