Despite decades of environmental regulations and international treaties, humanity has never been moving faster nor further from sustainability than now. In this talk, Erik Gómez-Baggethun dives into the question of what has failed in sustainability strategies and what is the way forward.
Erik Gómez-Baggethun is a Professor of Environmental Governance at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences, a researcher at the Norwegian Institute of Nature Research and a senior visiting researcher at the University of Oxford. He is Vice-President of the European Society for Ecological Economics and an expert for the Intergovernmental Panel on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services, an intergovernmental body which assesses the state of biodiversity and ecological life-support systems under the auspices of the United Nations.
