1967 and 2011: Arab Intellectual Responses?
October 29, 2013
This lecture explores how critical Arab thinkers have reacted to two historical turns in contemporary Arab history, the years 1967 and 2011. What journeys of self-reflection have these historical moments initiated for them? How have they impacted their understanding of their place and work in society? How do these two historical and intellectual turns resemble and differ from each other? What aspects of the interface between thought and politics do they reveal?
