Join me on my first camping trip of winter in the mountains. The temperatures on this trip dropped to a chilly -4°C, making it the perfect trip to ease my way into the winter camping season. As always, once I find a secluded spot to set up my tent, it’s all about enjoying the views and preparing a delicious meal. I hope you enjoy the video.
During this trip, I also tested a few new pieces of gear. The Zenbivy Light Bed, which was incredibly comfortable for stomach and side sleeping. And the new Durston X-Dome 1+ tent. Although it’s only a three-season tent, I really wanted to try it out before the winter weather becomes too severe. While it may not be as rugged as my usual tents, it’s significantly sturdier than any ultralight tent I own. I really enjoyed using it on this trip and I’m particularly excited to use it in the spring for my multi-day pack rafting trips when shaving weight is a priority.
