Horizon Forbidden West | The Ultimate Retrospective

Long time no see everyone! I know I haven't uploaded in a year, but I've been working on this video since Horizon Forbidden West came out in February 2022. I originally intended for this video to be a nice short and concise review of Horizon Forbidden West, but as I wrote the script and thought about the game more, it eventually just got bigger and bigger.

I really enjoyed my time playing Horizon Forbidden West, it's a beautiful game with lots of heart. It was great to pick up where Zero Dawn left off, and to experience the next chapter of Aloy's story. In my opinion, Forbidden West improves upon everything that made Zero Dawn so great, and has earned its place as one of my favourite sequels ever. This video is a review and analysis of the entire story of Horizon Forbidden West, and all of the game's side content and activities. The video is so long because I didn't want to compromise by splitting it into parts, I wanted it to be one cohesive video that covers Horizon Forbidden West in its entirety.

As a disclaimer, this script was finished in around November last year, so some of the things I talk about may seem outdated. Especially when I say "In February of this year" in reference to the release date of Horizon Forbidden West right at the start of the video (a complete mistake that I left in by accident). Another example is when I talk about the Horus Titans during the Open World Overview section of the video, I wrote the script before the Burning Shores was even announced, so some of the topics I talk about may seem outdated given the events of the DLC. This is only because I didn't want to alter my original script too heavily, as this video is meant to be from the perspective of playing Horizon Forbidden West for the first time without prior knowledge of what happens during The Burning Shores Expansion. Just thought I'd clear that up.
