An overview (not review) of the Jackson Freestyle Men's Skate with Jackson Ultima Aspire XP blades. In case this info is helpful in your decision-making, at the time of purchase, I'm rounding out the Basic 4 level of the US Figure Skating Learn-to-Skate program through my local skating venue. I chose these in order to have a skate that would carry me through the end of LTS Basic and into the Free Skate levels.
I had them heat molded and fit at my local skate shop and will be skating on them for the first time. Once I confirm the blade positioning is suited to me, I'll go back to have the remaining screws put in (or the blades adjusted, if needed, based on feedback from my instructors).
The cross-cut toe pick may be more advanced and less forgiving than the straight cut, but I'll see how that goes. The blades are an 8' radius (I forgot to mention this in the video).
Extra info:
The boot is part of the Fusion Series based on the Elite last, with a wider toe box and narrow heel for comfort and improved heel lock. I'd say my foot is more on the narrower side, but the fit feels fine especially after the heat molding process. The boot support rating is 45/49 (moderate). From my understanding, the Freestyle boot model number is: FREESTYLE 2192, which I guess technically is part of their "2000 Series"
