Women continue to be paid less for similar jobs and have less access to education. For these and many other reasons, gender equality is one of the top sustainable development goals for the United Nations. Equality is not only a fundamental human right, it is one of the foundations for building a peaceful and sustainable world. Although much progress has been made, women and girls around the world still do not have access to the same opportunities as men. To put an end to this situation, it is important to change some laws, rethink certain customs, and promote policies that put an end to the injustices against women and girls around the world.
