Grunion run! Every Spring and Summer in Southern CA, thousands of these small silvery fish beach themselves to lay their eggs! Females lay their eggs in the sand and they hatch about 2 weeks later! Even though each female lays thousands of eggs, only a few survive to adulthood. It was so much fun seeing the grunion run and thanks to the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium, I got to hatch some baby grunion to be released back into the ocean!! 🐟🐟🐟
