"While at our house in New Jersey, August 9, 2021, my wife happened to look out the window and see a black bear in our daughter's swimming pool. The previous year we had a similar pool destroyed by a black bear, so I wanted to scare it off, but saw that this bear was just hanging around. I didn't want to scare it too quickly and risk it being startled and tearing the pool, so I just watched it float around and play with one of my daughter's toys that was floating in the pool. After a while, it seemed that it might damage the pool so I yelled at it to scare it off."
