This is a simple and affordable reverse cycle split system air conditioner from Kelvinator with 2.5kilowatts of power, making it suitable for keeping a studio apartment or single room of 20 square metres or smaller nice and comfortable all year round. Larger air conditioners are also available in this series for looking after bigger rooms.

Like other split systems, this aircon is divided into the compressor that sits outside your home, and the streamlined indoor unit. You will need to organise a professional to install both of these units.

The indoor section has a clean and simple design, with an electronic display at the centre to show the current settings. The fascia is easy to clean, and on the inside, the BioFresh filtration will help to eliminate germs and allergens from your home’s air during cooling, keeping your home healthy. You will need to remove these filters for cleaning every month to keep the aircon running efficiently.

You can operate this aircon using the included remote control. You can adjust the fan speed and target temperature, and switch the swing on or off, depending on whether you want to focus the cool air in one direction or spread out the airflow.

One special setting is the I Feel mode, which lets you use the remote control as a temperature sensor. Simply take the remote with you to the most comfortable spot in your room, hit the I Feel button, and the air conditioner will take a reading of your immediate surroundings. It will then automatically adjust its temperature settings so that your entire room can be just as comfortable as your chosen spot. It will keep taking readings every ten minutes, or whenever you press the button, to help you stay comfortable.

There’s also an Eco mode that optimises the air conditioner’s energy usage while maintaining your preferred level of comfort. Another way to run this aircon efficiently is to use its timer. For example, rather than leaving your aircon running all day to keep your house cool, you can set the timer to start the fan half an hour before you’re due to get home from work. That way, when you walk in the door on a hot afternoon, you can walk straight into a cool and comfortable house, without running the aircon all day.
