Latest updates on Cyclone Amphan:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi to visit the cyclone hit areas of both West Bengal and Odisha to further assess the damage on the ground. He will be doing an aerial survey of the most affected areas of both West Bengal and Odisha.
The restoration work has begun in the worst affected areas like the North and South 24 Paraganas and several other areas which have been severely affected because of the cyclone.
The IMD has said that the depression of the cyclone has weakened into a low-pressure area around the north of Bangladesh and its neighbouring areas and it is likely to weaken further as it continues to move towards the northeast.
