On this album you can all the music made over the two days of ANU Festival of Improvised Music which took place on 4th and 5th December 2021 online.
The ANU linked London, Manchester, Chicago, West Sussex, Beijing, Ramallah, Berlin, Yogyakarta, West Wales, Edinburgh and Japan remotely so all the musicians involved could play together in real time as you hear on the recordings.
Each musician has an ANU device; a small piece of hardware running Jack Trip software into which their instruments or a microphone is connected the device then connects to a shared server and the sound of everyone in the server is sent back to each individual.
On the first day we explored three small quartets and on the second day experimented with a longer session in which everyone could enter and leave the server as they wished.
All tracks autorecorded by ANU in the server.
Mixed and edited by Sam Andreae.
Cover design and production by David Birchall.
Thanks to Arts Council England who funded the ANU Festival of Improvised Music.
