National security advisor Sydney Mafamadi confirmed that former Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyer did mention names of politicians allegedly involved in corruption at Eskom during a meeting. He confirmed that he was present at a meeting held in De Ruyter's office in July last year, where De Ruyter mentioned a high-ranking office bearer. Mufamadi said also present were the minister of Public Enterprises and his advisor, without mentioning their names. Appearing before Parliament's standing committee on public accounts on Friday, Mafamadi said they were given a sense of perversive criminality and organised crime at Eskom, but the national security advisor refused to repeat the names mentioned by De Ruyter at the said meeting. Political analyst Dr Oscar van Heerden joins us virtually.
