이재명 2차 검찰 조사 1시간 50여분만에 종료
The prosecution's questioning of main opposition Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung, was cut short on Tuesday, ending after less than two hours.
This was the second time in less than a week for Lee to be grilled by prosecutors.
Lee, who's been on hunger strike for nearly two weeks, appeared at the Suwon District Prosecutor's Office to face allegations of third-party bribery.
The prosecution suspect Lee approved or condoned Ssangbangwool Group transferring 8 million U.S. dollars to North Korea in 2019, with some of the money being intended to facilitate his planned visit to Pyongyang.
Lee has consistently denied the accusations.
DP spokesperson Kim Han-kyu told reporters that this will potentially be Lee's last appearance at the prosecution before either having the allegations dropped, or, more likely, facing an arrest warrant request, sometime next week.
If an arrest warrant is issued for Lee, a motion requesting "consent for arrest" will be put to a vote at the National Assembly.
