The highly anticipated redesign of the Kia Sportage has finally been revealed in its home country. The South Korean market website has shared preview images of the updated SUV, showcasing both its exterior and interior updates.
The 2025 Kia Sportage facelift measures 4,685 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 1,660 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,755 mm.
The most noticeable update is at the front, where the 2025 Kia Sportage for the Korean market features redesigned headlights. The previous boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights have been replaced, but the new, extra-long lighting signature on the more vertically oriented clusters maintains the SUV's distinctive look. The grille also gets a fresh design, with its pattern varying depending on the trim level. Similarly, the front bumper has been updated, offering different designs across the range.
At the rear, the taillights retain their original size and shape, but the inner graphics have been revamped. Kia has also revised the rear bumper, though the changes are subtle. Completing the exterior updates are two new paint options—Wolf Gray and Heritage Blue—along with updated alloy wheels, which are now available in sizes up to 19 inches.
Inside the updated Kia Sportage, the cabin features a sleek curved design that houses a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen running Kia’s new-generation ccNC operating system. This is paired with either a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster or an alternative mixed-screen setup, which includes a 4.2-inch information display at the center. A head-up display is also available.
The satellite navigation system offers an optional augmented reality view, while the adaptive cruise control leverages navigation data to adjust the vehicle’s speed for a more seamless driving experience.
The 2025 Kia Sportage supports over-the-air software updates and introduces a fingerprint authentication system for added convenience and security.
Inside, there are several refinements, including redesigned air vents, updated ambient lighting, and a new steering wheel.
For the Korean market, the Sportage will be available with a choice of interior color schemes: black, two-tone white and blue, or two-tone black and tan. It remains to be seen if these more vibrant options will be offered in other markets.
The 2025 Kia Sportage is now equipped with the Hyundai Group's latest Highway Driving Assist 2 technology, which can help the driver with lane changes on the highway for a more relaxed driving experience.
Additionally, Kia has upgraded its lane-keep assist and autonomous emergency braking systems. The updated braking system now includes motorcycle detection, enhancing safety by recognizing and responding to motorcyclists on the road.
The South Korean market version of the 2025 Kia Sportage offers three powertrain options. The first is a 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 178 horsepower and 265 Nm of torque. For those seeking better fuel efficiency, there's a 1.6-liter turbo hybrid that delivers over 220 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. Additionally, an LPG-powered 2.0-liter engine is available, offering 144 horsepower and 191 Nm of torque.
The 1.6-liter turbo engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, while both the hybrid and LPG models come with a six-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard, with all-wheel drive available on most variants.
