During the 2012 Contemplative Teaching and Learning Symposium at the Garrison Institute, we asked several presenters to speak about their work in contemplative teaching and learning by sharing stories and insights. Here is the first interview in this series, given by Lynne Hurdle-Price, education consultant and founder of Hurdle-Price Professionals.
In this interview, Lynne describes her work with teachers and students through the Inner Resilience Program, a non-profit organization founded by CTL Leadership Council member, Linda Lantieri. Lynne also discusses her workshop, "Mindful Monologues," an approach that combines her training in theater and her work in social and emotional learning. Participants in a "Mindful Monologues" workshop have the opportunity to write and perform a personal monologue, an exercise that can help the speaker and audience cultivate emotional intelligence and practice mindful listening.
