On Christmas Eve Ukrainians traditionally cook kutia, a ceremonial dish made of boiled wheat grain, then honey, poppy seeds, raisins, walnuts are added. Uzvar is another ceremonial dish, it is served as drink made of boiled apples and pears which were sliced and dried in summer to be kept for winter cooking.
