Free Electrons is the global energy start-up accelerator program that connects the world’s most promising start-ups with leading utility companies to co-create the future of energy and innovative customer solutions. The program is an unprecedented opportunity for later stage energy start-ups to gain access to the utility partners that can help them scale and expand in to new markets around the world.
The utility partners in Free Electrons are leaders in the clean energy transition, covering more than 40 countries, representing over $148 billion in combined net income and access to over 73 million end customers worldwide.
Free Electrons wrapped up its second module with an impressive total of 28 pilots running, and the final module in Berlin to come. ESB partnered with Sterblue, French start-up company, to test and assess UAV Wind Turbine inspection and this is the first pilot to be successfully completed as part of this year’s program, hence enhancing ESB’s reputation internationally with other utilities, start-ups and with our stakeholders.
Through the Free Electrons Program, ESB continues to investigate new technologies and conduct pilot projects to build strong relationships with start-ups and other utilities, which in turn will allow us to identify new opportunities to improve returns and grow revenues.
