I can safely say from testing this is one tool that could justify its place in any ones survival kit, especially if you like use your ferro rod in conjunction with a magnesium rod, as Dual action fire starter comes with a ferro rod backed with a magnesium rod. Here you can see this great Fire Starter in action against Cotton Balls and Vaseline (petroleum jelly). Vaseline and cotton balls are one of the most valuable fire starting tinder's in winter or in wet weather conditions so always keep it in mind when creating a survival fire kit. As they are lightweight and compact plus are very cheap to make.
