–Uses–
💦 Urinary Retention
💦 Surgery and Recovery (During surgeries & postoperatively to monitor urine output and prevent bladder distention)
💦 Accurate Measurement (Allows for precise urine output monitoring in critically ill patients)

NCLEX Tips
✨ Correct Placement: Always ensure the catheter is inserted correctly and securely to prevent complications.
✨Assess and address any discomfort or pain experienced by the patient during catheter insertion or while the catheter is in place.
✨Ensure the catheter tubing is free from kinks or obstructions to maintain a continuous urine flow
✨Regularly check the catheter site and drainage bag for signs of infection or other issues
✨Hang the drainage bag below the level of the patient on a non-moveable part of the bed
