Imagine how Ports can play a key role as catalysts for new blue economy innovation to solve some of our biggest global challenges, how they can change their business models to support innovation, entrepreneurship, and start up companies. We are already seeing signals of this happening around the globe, but what we have here in San Diego is very unique, and at the moment the only one of its kind in the world, where we have developed a new model for public private partnerships to support start-up companies by facilitating pilot projects and allowing them to test their technology in a real-world port environment.
