The eThekwini Municipality will rebuild the houses it demolished at Maoti north of Durban two weeks ago. The municipality is still investigating who authorised the move. Residents believe the incident is part of a power struggle between Mayor James Nxumalo and Councillor Zandile Gumede. The two are vying for the position of Ethekwini chair - the ANC's biggest region.
