i made this custom Horizontal hive for a friend. the entrance for the bee's is on the back side below the hinges. pull out bottom boards with vents also gives access to pull out trays. full length stainless #8 hardware cloth . vents on both ends of lid with bee escape. drop leaf table to hold smoker, tools, even large enough to set a nuc box on , keeps frame area free to work the bee's. here is a link to my web page which also has photo gallery.
