Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup Sugar
1 1/4 cup Milk
1 cup Oil
2 tsp Lemon juice
1 tps Vanilla essence
2 1/2 cups Maida
1/2 tsp Baking soda
1 tsp Baking powder
2 tsp unsweetened Cocoa powder/ Chocolate syrup
2 tsp Milk
Method:
Take sugar in a blender jar and add milk, oil, lemon juice and blend until smooth. Sugar should
dissolve in the mixture.
Transfer the mixture into a bowl and add vanilla essence.
Mix well and put a sieve on the bowl.
Add maida, baking soda, baking powder and mix everything well together.
Sieve the maida mixture into the bowl and mix well using fold and cut method.
Do not over mix or the cake won’t be nice and fluffy.
Take out 2 ladle full about 1/2 th batter into a bowl.
Add unsweetened cocoa powder, milk and mix well using fold and cut method. Chocolate cake
batter is all ready.
Grease the cake tin really good with lot of oil and add vanilla batter first at the bottom and add
chocolate batter on it.
Repeat the process until all the batter is transferred into the tray.
Tap the tray really good and swirl the mixture with a tooth pick or stick to give that marble
effect.
Give a thin layer of salt at the base of a kadhai and preheat it on medium heat for about 20
minutes.
Place a stand at the base of the kadhai and the cake tin on it.
Cover and bake on medium to high heat for about 50-60 minutes.
After about 50 minutes turn off the gas let the cake be in the cooker for another 10 minutes.
Remove the lid and check with a tooth pick. If it comes out clean, the cake is baked well.
Take the tray out and let the cake cool down for about 30 minutes.
Loosen the edges with a knife and flip the cake over into a dish.
Let the cake cool down completely for about 2 hours.
Cut the cake into pieces and marble cake is all ready.
