A stampede at the funeral for Iran's top general Qassem Soleimani has left at least 56 people dead and injured more than 200 in his hometown of Kerman,…as tens of thousands of mourners gathered for the ceremony.
The incident prompted authorities to postpone the burial ceremony originally scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, …with no new time given.
According to reports out of Iran, …authorities cited concerns about the massive crowd as a reason for the delay.
It's estimated up to a million people took to the streets to pay tribute to Soleimani.
While there's no information on what set off the stampede, reports say the crowd was shouting for "revenge" against the U.S.
