RELIEF-RESCUE- AND REHABILITATION
India has already proven its mettle when it comes to organising and executing such missions. But how do they do it? And who are the people who actually make it happen? Let’s take a look:
To start with, the three wings of the Indian Armed Forces play a vital role in such missions. The Indian Army, the Indian Air Force, and the Indian Navy converge to provide all-round relief and rescue aid.
Next, the Indian Red Cross Society joins aid efforts. A voluntary humanitarian organisation, the IRCS works to protect human life and health in India.
Additionally, a proactive deployment of the National Disaster Response Force takes place in order to provide a holistic and tech driven disaster management strategy.
Moreover, the paramilitary commandos and the national security guards also step up when duty calls. These highly skilled and trained operators leave no stone unturned in coping up with adverse situations.
Then you have the Central Reserve Police Force which joins in to combat insurgency, natural disasters, and simply speaking everything tragic and troublesome.
Local fire departments also play a key role in mitigating the loss of life and property in the event of a disaster.
Lastly, the Indian Railways too assist in relief and rescue operations in case of a train accident or any other calamity.
Thus all these teams and units, work in tandem with each other if and when a disaster takes its toll on us puny humans. India is home to thousands of organisations and institutions. But come crunch time and only a handful of these prove to be actually useful. Hats off to all you saviours out there, keep going!
