Back in 2012, belligerent political loudmouth and perpetual presidential candidate Vladimir Zhirinovsky put out an election video that upset a lot of people for animal cruelty involving a donkey.
In this video, Zhirinovsky attempts to use symbolism to make Russians feel bad about themselves and their nation -- and consequently vote for him. His point: Russia used to be a strong "troika" (a traditional, beautifully decorated three-horse sleigh) -- but now, the country has degraded into a mangy, lazy donkey, such as this one. The presidential candidate proceeds to whip the donkey repeatedly, screaming "Gooooooo!!!!!!"
Zhirinovsky caught much criticizm for this video for both, abusing an animal as well as implying that he would be doing the same to Russia and its citizens.
