【Synopsis】
After the death of Emperor Taizong of Tang, Wu Meiniang was forced to be ordained as a nun at Gan'e Temple and endured humiliation there. Later, due to pregnancy, she was brought into the palace by Emperor Gaozong. In a series of court struggles, Wu Meiniang personally killed her daughter to frame Empress Wang, defeated the Prime Minister Zhangsun Wuji, and eventually became Empress. She and Emperor Gaozong were mutually dependent yet filled with love and hatred.
