Trying to decide between the KTM RC390 and the TVS Apache RR 310 BTO? Three things. First, the RC390 is much faster. And while it is not that adjustable, it's easier to ride today. Everyday and on twisty roads or the racetrack. Compared to the RR310, the usability gap has narrowed and the old performance gap remains. In that sense, the BTO might be the more sophisticated motorcycle on the chassis front, the RC390 is still massive bang for your buck. Both the Apache RR310 BTO and the RC390 are terrific in the corners, although the Apache will feel a bit friendlier. What the BTO's adjustability allows you to do is use a screwdriver and a spanner to tweak the suspension closer to your personal liking. Suspension setup can sound like rocket science but all it needs, really, is a notebook to write down all the changes you made -- so you can undo them -- and time to mess with it. The real tradeoff? If you're touring, the Apache has a slightly better riding position and if you like tech, the RC390 has traction control and cornering ABS.
