Welcome everybody to day one of this Royal Commission into my latest power bill. Usually I'd expect a nice dinner and a movie before being so properly screwed in my own house. But I digress. This commission will attempt to answer two key questions.

One, what is a kilojoule?

And two, why am I having to choose between turning on the heater or wearing my doona around the house like some kind of sad human kebab?
