Four days of protests in D.C. over the killing of George Floyd by police in Minneapolis. WUSA9 covers both the chaos and peaceful demonstrations seen Monday.
The fourth day of protests was marked by a show of force around Lafayette Square, a flashpoint in the "Justice for George Floyd" protests in DC. Multiple flash bangs, tear gas canisters and pepper spray were deployed by police and the national guard to clear protesters from the park.
Peaceful protests were seen in many places across the DMV on Monday during the day, including in Prince George's County, Montgomery County and the District, near the White House.
Law enforcement in D.C. made arrests Monday evening into Tuesday while the District was under a strict curfew.
