the microkorg s has been around since 2002, this redesign came out in 2016 so it's not new. There's a lot of different tones but the best feature is the ability to edit every tone within the synth / through a computer.
This is considered an 'Analog Modeling Synthesis System' whatever that means.. I've seen it referred to as a modeling synth, an analog modeling synthesizer is a synthesizer that generates the sounds of traditional analog synthesizers using DSP components and software algorithms.
