'Regionally Interconnected Green Grids to Support Energy Transition in Asia-Pacific', the side event of UN ESCAP Seventy-eighth session of the Commission, was organized on 25 May 2022 at 12.45-13.45 (Hybrid, with virtual participation via MS Teams). This event will focus on how increased cross-border power system interconnectivity, linked to the deployment of renewable energy resources, can accelerate the energy transition in Asia and the Pacific. Participants will discuss key issues in enabling increased sustainable energy connectivity, including increased capacity of regulators, utilities and other stakeholders; technical and analytical tools to enable the integration of higher shares of renewable energy; and financing grid infrastructure.
