2018-08-04 - Barnaby Ridge & Southfork Mountain. These two official summits are prominent in the area especially as the ridge is directly East of the Castle Mountain Resort and dominates the view.
The hike starts near the corner of the resort parking lot and within just over 1 Km of hiking along the old access road it branches off and up to the ridge. On the way up, I basically just followed Nugara's route with a few deviations here and there. On the way down I took a different route than what Nugara suggests (a steep descent into a bushwhack) as I couldn't pass up ending the day with a visit to the two Southfork Lakes and Barnaby Lake, a truly gorgeous trio tucked below Southfork Mt.
