On a gorgeous Summers day with wall to wall sunshine, I went up to the Dean Forest Railway in Gloucestershire, to try out the new camera on some Steam. The intention for this event was to run Ex GWR 14XX 1450 in it's new green livery on Auto trains along this beautiful line in the depths of the Forest of Dean, Unfortunately is was declared unfit for duty, and locally based Pannier tank 9681 was on duty. As this loco is not Auto fitted, it has to run round it's train at each terminal. The train was made up of Auto Coach W238W 'Chaffinch' in maroon livery, and 178 in Great Western Railway Livery.
I must thank all the staff on the service we caught today, they were most welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble for them....it made our visit an extremely pleasurable experience, and for that I thank you.
