황교안 총리, 페루 제1부통령과 회담으로 APEC 일정 시작
This year's Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit has kicked off in Lima.
Representing Korea at APEC is the nation's prime minister Hwang Kyo-ahn .
He begins his official schedule with a meeting with Peru's First Vice President Martin Vizcarra.
The prime minister is expected to highly assess the Korea-Peru Free Trade Agreement,... and call for efforts to further strengthen the bilateral partnership by requesting Korean companies take part in the South American country's infrastructure projects.
Trade between Korea and Peru has grown an average of 30 percent every year since the FTA was ratified in August 2011.
Later in the day, Prime Minister Hwang will attend the APEC Business Advisory Council to highlight the importance of developing small and mid-sized companies that comprise 98 percent of the firms in the region.
On the final day of the summit, Hwang will discuss ways to respond to low global economic growth and the trend toward protectionism.
