UV air purifiers and AirROS Industrial air purifiers are two different types of air purifiers. Learn more about these two types of purifiers and which one might work better for your commercial space or business.

Hi, my name is Sharla. I'm here today with Brian from AirROS by stage industrial. We have a lot of frequently asked questions and one of them is what is the difference between UV technology and AirROS?
Okay. That's a very common question. Most most of the purifiers that are out there on the market right now are UV based. UV technology is a bulb technology that they basically by energizing this bulb at, and it generates a certain frequency that frequency now is what goes and kills. Pathogens. Bacteria is molds, et cetera, that go by the bulb. UV technology is as effective. It's a, it's a good way of killing bacteria, the limitations, and you hear the way that UV works is distance and time-based meaning anything that comes within a certain distance of that UV bulb will be killed. Anything that goes by that bulb for a certain timeframe can be killed. For example, I like to talk to customers and let them know, like use a candle as an example. So if you have a candle with a flame and I pass my hand through the flame, very slowly I'm now my hand is going to get burned, right?
It's I'm going slow enough at the right distance. If I go really fast through the flame, I'm not going to get burned. If I go really high above a flame, I may not get burnt. No matter how, what my speed is, UV is the same. So you have to go by the bulb and most of the time you'll see in like duct systems, there's multiple bulbs. Why? So no air gets past the distance limitation of the bulb. So UV is used that way. It's distance and time. And that does that kill the other thing that was UV. And you'll see, like there's various medical, UV robots running around shooting UV on everything. UV has a shadowing effect, meaning if the light cannot reach it. So there's a shadow behind the chair or shadow behind the door you know, under a table, it can't kill because the light is not hitting it.
So UV as a direct line of sight type technology and it's distance. And time-based, so that's really how UV works. Our system is different because we're not relying on a bulb. Yes, we have a non-thermal plasma internally to our purifier. So any of the air going through gets killed that goes through there, but it's not based on UV technology. So we're having a kill ratio inside the unit, but our technology is different because it goes into the environment, guns. They're like a gas phased chemical, if you would, but it's not chemical, it's organic. And we're able to touch surfaces door knobs under tables. There's no shadowing effect. And we don't have that distance or time limitation. A lot of time, of course is a variable, but not we it's not within like one minute or two minutes, you know, we can have a kill ratio all the time. So that's the main differences between the two.
