Welcome to the new year of the Church's Liturgy. The Liturgy of the church is the highest form of public prayer in the life of the Church. The Holy Eucharist is at the very centre of this public worship.
It is the First Sunday of Advent. It is that time of the year when the dark nights of winter urges us to cry out for the Light of the world - Christ the hope and saviour of humankind.
Jeremiah encourages this hope. A shoot will spring again. Life will be restored through him who is our integrity.
We welcome in faith, hope and love, the Holy Gospel according to St Luke in this Year C. He encourages us to stay awake, praying at all times, to withstand whatever comes our way before the Lord comes.
