Oh the bittersweet feeling of the last day at a luxury resort. It's been a great stay. Super comfortable, super relaxing, super luxe...but now we've got to sort out the rest of the trip: the part which we hadn't planned for. We had no accommodation, and no real idea where we were going to go. SO we took the advice of another guest of the hotel. She'd travelled from America, and so much of her travels were done alone. She recommended an area northeast of Bali: Amed.

I'd never even heard of this place, let alone want to go to this place. One of the best things about traveling, is that it truly make you more open to discovering things....which, I realise as a I type that out is ONE OF THE MOST POWERFUL THINGS EVER. Human experience and life experience is somewhat limited to what we're willing to consciously discover, and when you're in an environment when DISCOVERY is almost a default, it's pretty significant.

But before I get carried away, if I could just have another moment to rave about Munduk Moding Plantation resort. On the very last day, the service levels did not flinch. They were as high as they were throughout the entire stay. Needless to stay, we had memories to keep. I mean, there's something to be said about someone who wants to keep you comfortable while you're ALREADY COMFORTABLE waiting for your ride to take off. Putu offered us a beer while we were on the buggy to be driven to the car that was going to take us to our next destination. ALSO, our driver was super PATIENT and reliable when we got lost on the way to our next resort (which ended up being a 3.5 hour ride from Munduk). Those were the final touches of this stay which I won't forget.

NOW. This episode also peeks into our next accommodation to give you a taste of what we've got to come over the following days. What I can say for now is how DIFFERENT Boho Bali is from Luxe Bali. The question is: when you go unplanned and budget, does the experience flip upside down??? Is it even going to be enjoyable?? The next episodes will let that experience unfold!
