Lt. Col. Mickey Kirschenbaum with the Nevada Air National Guard says a C-130 was departing Reno to an unknown destination when it experienced difficulties with landing gear.
The mechanical issue prompted an emergency landing.
The plane will be inspected at the Reno air guard base for further assessment. According to Nevada Air National Guard spokesman Emerson Marcus, the plane is not one of theirs.
The C-130H normally carries at least six people aboard including two pilots, a navigator and three others.
No injuries have been reported at this time.
A staff sergeant from Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama confirmed to News 4-Fox 11 that one of their C-130s was participating in warfare exercises in the greater Reno area last week, but could not confirm it was their plane that made the emergency landing.
