The 57ft suburban coach was built and introduced to the British railway network in the 1950's & 60's in an attempt to replace older designs and introduce a more standardised fleet of rolling stock. A longer version with gangway corridors was produced for mainline working whilst the shorter 57 foot coach without a gangway was intended for suburban routes with tighter curves.Join me in this video as I build and review the Dapol 57 ft suburban coach kit in OO gauge.
The Kit i've got here is the C096C OO Gauge Stanier 57ft non corridor brake coach, BR Carmine Unlined M20562, but other versions with different liveries and running numbers are available.
