This is an early version of the countdown that was only used in the test run of the ball drop, not in the actual one. We start off with a ball dropping from the top of the tent, and then the numbers flash until it hits 0, when a rocket will fly up just like in the final version, and then the HNY text zooms in before switching to WNSR welcomes 1989.
