A service was held at the Cathedral to mark the 81st Anniversary of the death of General Władysław Sikorski.

General Sikorski's aeroplane crashed seconds after taking off from Gibraltar in 1943, killing everyone onboard.

He was instrumental in leading the Polish government while in exile during the Second World War, and the anniversary of his death is marked locally every year.
