We all have wanted a mandarin dragonet at some point. Here is a quick easy DIY project which is also great for pipe fish and scooter blennies that are technically a dragonet as well.
Just a few things to add about the video. The salinity of the water in the brine shrimp hatcheries is at 1.021. My tank is 1.025. I used Kosher salt. I did not use baking soda. Which is recommended. Why IDK. I am not using a light. They say an ideal temp for the water is 80F-82F for the hatcheries. Never exceed 86F. I opted out of using a heat source by just setting up the hatcheries in my furnace room which is the warmest room in the house. I have been told that you do not need a heater. The brine shrimp just need a good room temperature that we as humans normally live in, 65F-75F.
The feeding station design is best with a black container and a black ridged pipe. I was unable to find the right paint or container to get the best results, because if you black out all the light from the top of the funnel down. Brine shrimp are attracted to light. So they will swim down the tube and swim to the light coming through the netting.
