The United States Embassy in South Africa has donated 7 million rand to the Iziko Museum in Cape Town, for the conservation of Africa's slave history. The grant is the biggest of it's kind ever donated by the U.S to the country. The funds will, among other things, enable the museum to continue it's conservation of the Sao José slave shipwreck, of 1794, which was stranded off the Cape coast.
